Garbage and Recycling

The Garbage and Recycling program in North Kawartha consists of Curbside Garbage and Recycling Collection, and two Transfer Stations (Anstruther and Haultain).

Facility Rentals

Are you looking for the perfect space to host an event?  The Township of North Kawartha has a number of indoor facilities available to rent. Banquet Halls, meeting rooms and arena/ice surface are all available for rent.

  • Pubic Notice: Victoria Day, May 19, 2025

    The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, May 19, 2025, for Victoria Day and will re-open on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 9:00 am with normal business hours. 

    The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open with weekend hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, on Monday, May 19, 2025.

  • Provincial Day of Action on Litter: Tuesday, May 13, 2025

    On May 13, 2025, the Township of North Kawartha is proud to support the Provincial Day of Action on Litter by encouraging the clean-up of public spaces across our community, including parks, roadsides, and other public areas.

    For more information, or to arrange the pick-up of free garbage bags and schedule litter collection, please contact our Parks and Recreation and Waste Department at 705-656-2438 or 705-656-4445 ext. 251.

  • Public Notice: County Road 54 / Balmer Road Surface Treatment

    Please be advised that Peterborough County will be continuing their surface treatment project on County Road 54, also known as Balmer Road. Work is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 6, 2025, to Friday, May 30, 2025.
