Garbage and Recycling

The Garbage and Recycling program in North Kawartha consists of Curbside Garbage and Recycling Collection, and two Transfer Stations (Anstruther and Haultain).

Facility Rentals

Are you looking for the perfect space to host an event? The Township of North Kawartha has a number of indoor facilities available to rent. Banquet Halls, meeting rooms and arena/ice surface are all available for rent.

News and Updates

Notice of Temporary Road Closure
The Township of North Kawartha is advising that the south leg of Johnson Road at County Road 620 will be temporarily closed from July 28 to July 30, 2025, to allow for culvert installation work.

This project is being completed by Drain Bros. Excavating Limited on behalf of the County of Peterborough. Detour signage will be in place. Please proceed with caution and follow posted traffic controls.

Notice of upcoming micro surface treatment
Micro surface treatment will be completed on Oakridge Drive, Tucker Street, and Tucker Street North during the month of August 2025.

Minor traffic delays are expected, and lane restrictions will be in place while the work is underway. If full road closures are required, advance notice will be provided. Emergency vehicle access will remain open at all times.

Please use caution when approaching Township staff, contractors, or equipment on the roadway.
